Emo Makeup
Emo is an abbreviation for emotional. It started of as a style of music that is lyrically honest and quite melodious. Eventually, it translated to a style of clothing or particular look. Plaid shirts, suspenders, hats, Chuck Taylor shoes and jeans are just some fashions staples of those with an emo sense. Alongside emo fashion is emo makeup.
Unlike other makeup styles, emo makeup is quite dramatic. The focus is on the eyes, so dark bold colors are used. Eyeliner and charcoal or black eye shadow are extensively used. To further enhance the eye area, black mascara is used for a bold and dramatic effect. The lips are downplayed so oftentimes, a soft neutral shade is used, or perhaps even only gloss.
Emo makeup necessitates that you start off with good clean skin. This will set the perfect canvas for your look. At the same time, you need to take care of your skin especially if you use a lot of makeup, so be sure to take off the makeup at the end of the day before you go to sleep. Never sleep with makeup on your face because you need to let your skin breathe so you don’t breakout into acne or zits.
On your clean face, sparingly apply some foundation. Powder and liquid foundation are the easiest to apply and give ample coverage. Next, apply the eye makeup. Remember that this is the focal point of your emo makeup so you need to get it just right. Apply enough shadow on the eye lid and remember to extend it outwards using your makeup brush. This will clearly define the eye. Apply eye liner and finish it off with your black mascara.
Don’t use a bright colored lipstick. Gloss should be fine. Practice in front of a mirror the proper application techniques of emo makeup. Pretty soon, you’ll get it just right.

Red eye shadow is hot! But it isn’t supposed to be a mask it’s more of a stain
also try purple eye shadow or green eye shadow
but always shade it and make it look natural as if it were regular eye shadow
and a cute little princess lip…like just a heart in the center (very victorian very goth)
think haute couture instead of goth…maybe you could take influence from anime or tokyo street style

Take your emo eyepaint or eyeliner and apply it carefully on the bottom of your eyes. Make sure you get close to the lash line. Start on the inside corner of your eye and make a thin line going to the outside of your eye.
Apply your eyepaint/eyeliner in the same manner on top. Try for a rounded edge on the outside corner of your eye.
Apply a healthy amount of eye shadow to your eyelids after the eyeliner has dried.
You can create a shadow effect by applying a thin amount of a dark coloured eye shadow all around your eyes.
Apply one coat of black mascara.
If you want to, use foundation in a tone slightly lighter than your skin tone, or your own skin tone.
Put a tiny bit of lipstick on. Blend it well into your lips and blot some off for a tinting affect.
Don’t overdo the makeup- you may look like a poser.
Quick note: If you have a very light skin complexion and maybe even darker eyes, you may want to use like a dark brown (close to black) and/ or a crimson color. This will not be to harsh on your skin tone!
Apply colored eye liner under your black; use eyeliner on top lid too.

my mom went crazy when i told her i was dating a emo(tional) guy (2 years older) why? shes like most everyone stereotyping them she said “YOU ARE NOT DATING SOME GUY WHO WEARS MAKEUP AND CUTS THEM SELVES” then i told her hes not all about that and she said ” WELL YOU CAN CHOSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO NOT DATE HIM OR BE GROUNDED FOR 3 MONTHES?” and like that im grounded for 3 months no ipod or tv for 3 loooong months i like him allot why can’t she understand i still have my cell and the cpu (she dosn’t know i have his phone number and he has mine) (which is lame we have been dating 2 weeks) so we can still talk and right now we are texting we are so open with each other i feel like i can tell him anything and you can tell he does (he said he still is afraid of the dark) it takes allot of guts for a 15 year old to say that. what should i do how can i make my mom like him? me and him have so much in common (sniff..hes seen more x files shows them me sniff…) what would you do

Two questions about punk/emo/gothic…?
First, is there a difference between any of the three?
And second, how can anyone enjoy being in black all the time??? Black clothes, black makeup (even for the guys, which is really wrong in my opinion), wacko haridos… I’m sorry to judge, and I know it can be a way for people to feel they’re not alone, but still… what could be so reassuring and fun about living in a world of such dark and… vulagrity? I don’t mean to cause anger, thinking that I’m insulting anyone from these groups, I’m just very confused about it…. and what about those people who cut themselves??? Is that really the only way they can let out anger and pain? Can’t they just have a good cry and punch a pillow if needed or something??? A lot better than what certain others do… anyway, please don’t answer with disrespect as I have said nothing of the sort and thank you for reading! Only real answers please. Thanks.

Yes there is a difference. Punk is they don’t care what people think, to a point, they are into skateboards, and they are mature in the mind even if they don’t show it. Black is just a popular color cause that is normally the background of a bands shirt. Emo stands for emotion kid or adult. They are the ones that cut (you cant truly understand why they cut even if they did explain it to you all I can tell you is that is their punching a pillow anyway) and they don’t flaunt it but every one knows, they do as they please and say what they want no matter what happens. They are not crazy or weird like what some people think. I actually have some friends that are emo. And finally there are two kinds of Gothics. There are the real ones that worship the devil, believe in wickens(witch’s that are more or less into the herbal stuff), and yes do wear nothing but black. The other kind of Gothic is the ones that dress, think and do everything like the real ones only they don’t worship the devil. However, neight one of the Gothics are numb to life they just don’t care so they seem dull in their emotions sometimes. And for the second question, since I guess you could call me punk, I like to wear black cause . . . . . . . Its comfortable, its a color that I like, and it may not make a lot of sense to you but when I wear black it makes me feel like there is this huge blanket wrapped around me, making me feel like nothing too bad can happen. I feel connected to the color. Like, how some people like certain colors over another. However, even though I just explain to you all this, they are no different then any one else. No one is the same and that just makes the world more colorful. You cant put a label or status on them just their personally if you have to label them at all.

Get a powder that’s 2 shades lighter than your skintone and apply it to your face. Use a brownish-grey eyeshadow to put under your eyes, and dab some concealer on your lips to make them look pale and dry.

I use to be a pretty outgoing girl and I still am , I didn’t wear as much makeup and I guess I was more sluttier ? Idk , but I was pretty chill about everything except certain stuff , and I listened to “nice” music . Which I hate now . But then I changed , I didn’t want to be known as “one of the sluts of the school .” So I changed….everything . This is the upcoming 3rd single from E, S, P & G. LOL @ the title and I guess the lyrics support this, who agrees with me that this is supposed to trash the very emo, makeup covered bands (like PATD, FOB, MCR, etc). I like all 3 of those bands but Foo Fighters detroy all of them so LOL @ this I cant wait for the video fot this song, knowing Dave Grohl its gonna be hilarious.
